Privacy Policy Declaration of Continental Reifen Deutschland GmbH for the Application ContiConnect Driver App
Continental Reifen Deutschland GmbH is making available the smartphone application ContiConnect Driver App. This App allows to display tire related data (e.g. tire pressure, tire temperature) of a connected CPC System (ContiPressureCheck / ContiConnect) on a mobile device and to provide warning signals and recommendations as soon as a tire related alert occurs. Furthermore the App allows to transmit tire-, vehicle- and quality- related data into the ContiConnect backend and to make this data available for the fleet manager.
Continental Reifen Deutschland GmbH processes your data in the context of your use of the ContiConnect Driver App in compliance with the applicable legal regulations.
§ 1
Scope
Personal data entered by you is collected, processed and used by Continental Reifen Deutschland GmbH for the purpose of providing the services provided by the App and ContiConnect. Insofar as this is necessary for the execution of the contract, the data may be passed on to the companies affiliated with Continental Reifen Deutschland GmbH pursuant to sections 15 et seqq. of the German Stock Corporation Act as stipulated in the Binding Corporate Rules of Continental.
If permitted and/or prescribed by law, the data may be evaluated for reporting purposes (e.g., statistics).
Your data will be collected, processed and used solely in compliance with the applicable Privacy Policy regulations (e.g., your consent).
In accordance with the statutory provisions, all your data is treated as strictly confidential.
§ 2
Functioning of ContiConnect Driver App
Use of the ContiConnect Driver App requires the installation of this App on a smartphone / device and the connection to a Continental PressureCheck System via Bluetooth.
In order to use this App also as part of a ContiConnect system which makes the data also accessible to the Fleet Manager, additionally
Localisation services are switched off by default in accordance with legal Privacy Policy requirements. The User has the possibility of switching on the localisation services.
Use of FMS data (e.g. vehicle milage, vehicle location) is switched off in the app by default in accordance with legal Privacy Policy requirements. The User has the possibility of switching on the use of this data.
This App allows the transmission to Continental only of that User personal data and his/her vehicle data necessary to fulfil the services by Continental detailed under section 3 of the Terms of Use. There is no exchanging of personal or other data as between the Users of the App.
§ 3
Collection, Processing and Use of Data in the ContiConnect Driver App
Continental Reifen Deutschland GmbH only stores personal data relating to users of its ContiConnect Driver App if consent for this has been provided. The only data that is stored relates to the tire / sensor / system information stored and generated by the ContiPressureCheck / ContiConnect System, the mac address of your smartphone / device and additional data that is necessary to produce statistics, and to improve the services and information. This includes additionally the date and time of the use of the app, app functions used, quality related app statistics and information regarding the type and quality of the Bluetooth connectivity.
If enabled, also the following information will be stored: ContiConnect fleet ID, location of the vehicle at the time of alert generation and data transmission, mileage of the vehicle.
Personal user data is solely used to process inquiries within the context of the consent granted or in compliance with applicable Privacy Policy regulations. Based on legal requirements, Continental has enforced global, uniform and internal Privacy Policy Rules (Binding Corporate Rules) regulating the protection of your personal data.
The following personal data will be collected when the App is in use, in background mode and when the Live Option is activated:

Protection of stored data
Our company uses technical and organisational security measures to protect the personal data provided by you from manipulation, loss, destruction or from being accessed by unauthorized persons. The security measures are continually improved and adapted in accordance with the latest technology. Data provided that is unencrypted could potentially be viewed by third parties. For this reason, we would like to point out that, with regard to data transmission over the Internet (e.g., by e-mail), secure transfer cannot be guaranteed. Sensitive data should therefore either not be transmitted at all or only via a secure connection (SSL). If you access pages and files and are then asked to enter personal data, please note that the transmission of such data via the Internet may not be secure and that there is a risk that it may be viewed and manipulated by unauthorized persons.

3rd Party Applications
Google Firebase Crashlytics
This application (“app”) uses Crashlytics, a crash reporting tool from Google Inc. (“Google”). Crashlytics collects certain information which cannot be linked to the End User of the app in order to help identifying the root cause of any occurring crash. This data can among others contain device state information, unique device identifiers, device hardware and OS information, information relating to how the application functions, and the physical location of a device at the time of a crash. Additionally it can contain information about how the End User uses this application.
The collected information belongs to Continental Reifen Deutschland GmbH and is used to get insight into the functionality and the problems which occur during runtime. It’s also used to evaluate your use of the app.
Furthermore the collected information is used by Crashlytics to improve their Services and to analyse trends and behaviors and suchlike in an anonymous way.

§ 7
Closing Provisions
Continental reserves the right to change or amend these Privacy Policy Declaration in the interests of the ContiConnect Driver App at any time with effect for the future, provided that such changes are not unreasonable for the User. This shall be the case in particular if the changes do not involve any substantial detriment to the User, e.g. with changes in contact information, the commencement of additional services or any similar matters.
In each case of intended change to these Privacy Policy Declaration Continental shall give reasonable notice to the User of at least 7 days prior to any change coming into force. Such notification shall take place via email to the email address provided by the User upon registration or via pop-up window in case a registration was not required.
The User has to give his consent to the changed Privacy Policy Declaration to continuing the use of ContiConnect Driver App by ticking the respective opt-in box of the pop-up window or trough renewed logging in.
